Brew Day - Monday, April 29, 2013
Needlers Mill
30 Gallons ( double batch brew day )
25 lbs. 2 row
1.31 lbs. Wheat malt
62 grams Hallertauer - 60 min.
US-05 ( did not rehydrate the yeast, but used twice the amount )
70% RO water
O.G. - 1.047
F.G. - 1.010
% - 4.9
BU - 25
SRM - 3.6
I am using Great Western Malt from Country Malt from the Pacific Northwest US. UCM had only this and the price went from $47.50 to $51.70. The bags are only 50 lbs. instead of 55 lbs. This means I got ripped off 15 lbs. for $12.00 more. Got to find a cheaper place to buy malt but with the price of gas, this may not be possible. The price is still around $9.00 a case.
No Brewday Issues So Far
UPDATE
I used this malt for the first time and this and all beers made with it had pernament haze. This is driving me crazy since my beers have all been clear after the addition of gelatin. I will never, ever buy this shit malt again.
