Robobrew In Memory Of Toffee Ingredients 11 lbs. GTA Pils Malt 8 ozs. Munich I 8 ozs. Vienna 5 ozs. Acid Malt 77 g Hallertauer Mittelfruh WLP029 Kolsch Water - 75% RO - 25% WELL ( 25% well water still seems okay ) I sampled the previous Kolsch which is a duplicate of this recipe and it was real nice, but needs aging of course. I thought my well water would do something bad to the beer, but it hasn't yet. O.G. - 1.048 F.G. - % - SRM - 3.6 BU - 25                                                         BREW DAY  Nothing BAD happened today which is usually the case in the basement. However, spring is on the way so I can finally brew out in the garage and make all kinds of mess on my back deck which is just a garden hose spray clean up. Tuesday, March 16 - Good thick head of krausen going on. Clean up to brew on March 29. Wed March 17 - Krausen goi...

Robobrew I am finally doing a brew with my well water. I am sick of buying beer and I need to know once and for all if I can brew an IPA with my well water. I already know I can't brew a Kolsch with my well water as I need soft water which means buying RO water. Toffee was here for an overnight Ingredients 12.75 lbs. CMC 4.5 ozs. Acid Malt 14 g Warrior at 60 min. 28 g Chinook at 30 min. 56 g Chinook at a 175 F Hop Stand for 15 minutes. 15 g US-05 100% well water ( hoping the sulphates and calcium are in sink and proper levels ) My last few IPA beers either taste funny using brewing salts, or my last one using just 50% RO and Well water did not work at all. Very cloying but I used munich II and vienna malts. This is a smash beer almost so if it is cloying, it will be the water or something else I don't know about. No crystal malt or specialty malts at all, so cloy up then you bastard. Well, I tasted my wort sample the next day and it was really cloying. Not sure why, but the tas...

Robobrew This recipe was not for a Kolsch, but I changed my mind and I think I can make a darker version of a Kolsch with it. I already milled the grains on Feb. 19. Should be okay. I use so little amount of well water so there is no reason not to go back to spring water. I don't need that much, and besides there is no water softener salt in spring water. Ingredients 11 lbs. CMC 1.25 lbs. Munich II 1.25 lbs. Vienna 4.4 ozs. Acid Malt 1 oz. Roast Barley ( colour adjustment ) 80 g Hallertauer Mittelfruh WLP029 Kolsch Water - 75/25 RO/WELL ( tasting my well water Kolsch before using well water ) My Dec. 18, 2020 Kolsch used 25% well water and it was a real nice beer. O.G. - 1.048 F.G. - % - SRM - 6.8 BU - 26                                                   NO MESS TODAY - 029 AT 11:30 PM I had quite a lot of yeast in the 500 ml mason jar. Not sure why though as I ha...
