4 Dog Brewery

This is my first feeble attempt at an IPA. This is a light IPA if it exists. Maybe just an amber ale? I didn't want a high alcohol beer at this time. I may brew a true to style IPA later on this winter. This is my version that should be drinkable just in time for Christmas. 3 DOG IPA 15 gallons O.G. - 1.054 F.G. - 1.009 % - 5.93 SRM - 7 IBU - 45 22 lbs. Canadaian 2 Row Malt 1.5 lbs. Flaked Barley 1.0 lbs. Crystal ( 80L ) 1.0 lbs. Biscuit ( 25L ) 1.0 lbs. Corn Sugar 50 gms. Chinook pellet hops - 60 min. 25 gms. Chinook pellet hops - 30 min. 10 gms. Chinook pellet hops - 10 min. 28 gms. Nottingham yeast Mashed @ 150F for 90 min. Fermented @ 67F

This brew is a light ale that I usually only make in the summer. Low level of hops in this brew make it a great beer around the pool. This is for our annual family Christmas and there are a lot of mega-swillers coming. I have on hand of course my Stout and my English IPA for anyone who craves beer with flavour. Here is my pool beer recipe. Pretty simple. 12 gallons O. G. - 1.044 F.G. - 1.010 % - 4.7 SRM - 7 IBU - 15.9 22 lbs. Canada Malting 2-row 1 lb. 75L Crystal 1 lb. flaked barley 55 grams EKG hop pellets ( 60 min )
