  Pitched Yeast on April 18 The OG was quite high, 1.10 ( I just dropped the hydrometer in the pail. Could of got caught on something. No matter but be sure to check the gravity when it is time to rack. Day 1 - No Activity Day 2 - No Activity Day 3 - Finally doing something. Day 9 - Seems to be done. Day 14 - Rack to a carboy on Sunday, May 4. It is done I think since no activity in a few days.                .998 or lower according to the instructions. This is when you add the rest of the stuff                and degas it.  Day - 35 ( Filter and bottling day - May 25 ) Racking Gravity - .992 The OG was odd, like 1.110?   I will be smoking Ribs this weekend. Most likely on the 26th. Use the 2-2-1 method. Buy some chicken thighs and bbq them using indirect heat. You should buy a new burner as it is the middle of summer and it should be complete except for the tray I broke.

  We will definitely smoking Ribs on Saturday. I hope to have Kolsch beer available also, which at the time of writing this is doubtful.

  I have to make another Kolsch using the other carboy which I hate to clean. I have no choice since we are busy going here and there. I was hoping to use Mr. Conical but the weather sucks, so this is it. If I have time I want to CPBF this in my PET bottles I have never used. I need to bring down the BBQ Island from the garage. Get back to doing things I used to do before getting just too busy to do anything. Make your starter on April 21. Make a 2.5 L starter with 240 grams of DME for a starter of 2 L or close to it on the stir plate. Even though it looks like you may have 50 B yeast cells slurry in your flask, still go with around 25 - 30. That way you will definitely have enough cells to do the job. I am short a bit. So, take out 500 ml for an over build. Ingredients 11 lbs. Rahr Pils Malt 8 ozs. Vienna  35 grams Hallertauer ( 4% AA ) at 60 min. 30 grams Hallertauer ( 1.8% AA ) at 60 min. Maggie April 2025 Had to buy new yeast. Delivery was more than the yeast. I just hate that. This will be a  Mr. Robobrew now as the temps are still stuck in winter mode. Seems I might not be brewing in the garage until May according to the weather guy. I can get this one in and have it for the end of May. The one after that will be in the Conical and I will deal with cooler garage temps when that comes. I tried to brew earlier but nope, too busy socializing.  Maggie Jan 2025 Ingredients 11 lbs.
