15 Gallons

Brew 2 of a double brew day. This is a low abv bitter that hopefully will turn out okay. I have brewed this 3 times and 2 were okay and the third was an astrigent tea bag. I still don't know what happened. I thought about going with 70/30 RO/WELL water with this brew. The recipe doesn't require a real English or Burton water profile. I am not looking for that, just a nice tasting brew with beer gas. The one thing about brewing 15 gallons is possibly ending up with 15 gallons of bad beer.

19 lbs. Pearl Malt
1 lb. Muntons Crystal 60
56.70 g EKG ( 7.2 AA )
Wyeast 1098 British Ale
50/50 RO/city

Signs of fermentation didn't start until the next day in both carboys. The US-05 that was just sprinkled in had clumps on top the next morning. This is what happens when you sprinkle it in. Going good now though. This beer again has a funny taste. I am not 100% sure why. I did mash too low as I was busy with a double brew day, but it could be the water. 50/50 RO/WELL should not of resulted in a funny tasting beer. I will go with 100% RO and brewing salts I did last May which turned out great. Should of done that this time. I am thinking on maybe this may have an oxygenation problem. The last one was in carboys and it was the same. I don't really know, but I have to keg very carefully in the future. I am sure it wasn't an oxygen problem but I have no idea why this beer has a funny taste. I'll try again in November.
