3 Dog English IPA
14 Gallons
22 lbs. G&P 2-row
1 lb. Crystal Malt ( 70L )
8 ozs. Biscuit Malt ( 25L )
145 grams EKG hop pellets ( 60 min )
23 grams US - O5
O.G. - 1.044
F.G. - 1.008
% - 4.73
SRM - 6.9
BU - 45
This beer has turned out nice. It has a nice hop bite to it and it tastes somewhat like an English ale I just bought at the LCBO. I does need, however some roasted or dark malt to get a darker colour. The yeast took it down too low for the style. If I use this yeast again, I will mash higher to get a FG of around 12 - 14. At least it tastes good. The last time I bottle conditioned beer, I threw out all of it. I got some sort of infection. I used an old pail on bottling day and that most likely infected it. I have since replaced that pail with a dedicated bottling bucket only pail.
