BREW DAY NOTES
Very humid out today. Hot in the garage, even at 4 am.
I didn't bring up the irish moss tablets and now I know why the beer is so hazy in the cooled
wort. I will have to deal with clearing the beer after fermentation is done. I can still clear it
but it may not get clear as I like it, but so what? It is the taste that matters.
Efficiency is low but it has been since using Rahr for the last 2 - 3 years now. I am fine with
that as long it is consistent all the time. Not likely.
Day 1 - Pitched US-05 at 10:30 am.
Day 2 - As of 6 am no activity.
Finally some activity. 12 noon.
Day 3 - Going good. 68F.
Day 4 - Same.
Day 5 - Slowing down a bit.
Back from camping now on July 13. Looks done, no activity. Will keg on July 18.
Gelatin finally added on July 19. Hope it is clear by next weekend.
Transfer late Wed night to get at least 5 days under gelatin. Punch up right away. Done.
Should be ready to serve around Thursday night. No hurry.
I have only 1 tap working and will go back and forth between the Helles and IPA.
Finally got to give it a taste after I carbed it up. Okay beer. Not as good as the last one.
