                                                                  Brew Notes

Pretty well a normal brew day. Lots of cleaning after though. Oxiclean in the boiler and the mash tun as this is the first time using them in months. Not as clean as they should of been.

Day 1 - Going good today and getting more vigourous as the day goes on. Good sign.
Day 2 - Same.
Day 3 - Krausen spewing from the blow off hose last night and this morning, but has subsided to a
good and steady fermentation. Dropped the temp to 66 F.
Day 5 - Same, but slowing down. Still spewing out stuff.
Day 11 -  Slowed right down, but still bubbling every 10 seconds. Will keg soon, like in a day or so.

                                                                KEGGED ON JUNE 15

Tasted similar to my Irish Ale. Still carbing up, so a taste is coming soon. It has a spicy after taste which I am not sure where it came from. Kind of bland. Next time, ( most likely not ) use 50% Maris Otter/2 row. It is only 2 days old so I assume it will be better in a week or so.

1/3 OF THE KEG TOSSED OUT

I just couldn't stand the molasses any longer. If I ever brew something like this again, it will mostly likely be my Mild because it turned out fine. Chocolate malt is the main ingredient with no RB, but a little Special III to boost the srm if needed.
