Lamb & Slaughter - Dec. 6, 2019

I have lots of EKG hops in my freezer, so I will be brewing this until they are gone. Back to a more traditional British bitter with this one. This is one beer I want to tweek to brew a really true British Ale. Yes, I do need British malt and Brewers Pantry has a sack of Simpsons Golden Promise for around $65.00 a sack. Worth the trip to Bomanville.

                                                         Brew Notes

No activity until around 12 noon the next day. Fridge on.  Hope this tastes okay, because I am short on beer. My English Ale kind of sucks.

Dec. 9 - Going okay, not strong though.
Dec. 15 - Pretty well done, seeing no activity.

                                                                   KEGGED ON DEC. 21

No off flavours, just a neutral tasting beer. Need an English strain of yeast for this recipe to taste better. I got a real odd taste a few days after kegging. No idea why? Carbed up a bottle on Dec. 31st and it was very good. Clear with a nice thick head. WTF? Why does this change so quickly? This time it went from bad to good, now stay there. Will be brewing this in the future with Wyest 1469r.

                                                 TASTE ON JAN 7

Not that great. Kind of malty and the malty part is somewhat unpleasant. Done with this until later in the year, maybe. My hops can stay frozen until I make up my mind to brew this again. Need UK grains or don't bother brewing it.
