Chris's Pub Ale - Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019
Giving Tettnanger another try. Last time I used it, I bittered to 21 with just a 60 min. addition. Tasted like I added 4 ozs. at 0. Not sure what happened there.
Ingredients
11 lbs. UCM
12 ozs. Munich I
15.5 g Magnum at 60 min.
28.35 g Tettnanger at 30 min.
28.35 g Tettnanger at 0 min.
US-05 - (250 ml of 4 day old slurry)
Water Profile - Kal's Blonde Ale
PH - 5.30
O.G. - 1.046 - 79%
F.G. - 1.005
% - 5.26
SRM - 3.5
BU - 25
BREW DAY NOTES
Brew day was fine. The ground fault Robert gave me a few years ago malfunctioned. It is toast, so I had to raise it to my stand/ladder and it was a pain to use, but I did it. I will buy an end to my electrical cord to make a 2 foot extension cord for the next time I make beer. The 4th notch on my mill made recirculating my wort slower, but no big deal. Just don't walk away. Wort tasted great. Confident this will be a good beer.
Dec. 5 - Going good the next morning. 66 F. Fridge not on at the moment. Will put the other
carboy on the bench to make room for tomorrow's brew. Would do it anyway if I have to
turn the fridge on.
Dec. 9 - Going good but not strong. I assume this brew will give me the shits just like the English
one that used yeast slurry just like this one.

Quite the final gravity, 1.005. Tastes good. Not a lot of hop aroma yet. Not sure if I want to raise it after today, things change when it clears and ages. I carbed up a bottle to see where I am at. Do not like it. I am sure it will get better with age. It was only 5 days old. If it was an AIPA, it may of tasted better. Carbing it up now, no transfer to another keg. Getting low on C02. Will definitely go to the place down by Pido Road to check out their prices and drop off some shit.
Taste on Dec. 30
Very clean beer. Low on hop aroma, good bitterness. On Dec. 31st the taste was odd. I think it may have carb bite which changes the beer in my opinion.
Jan. 2 - Just bitterness, I taste no noble hop aroma at all. A high bitterness which is odd since I didn't bitter this that much. The Magnum hops only bittered to 20 bu. Odd, but drinkable.

Has a real odd taste. Hops taste like US hops a bit.
