                                                              Knucklehead Lagered Ale

15 Gallons

This a brew based on Beaus Lugtread. My recipe is based on my current inventory of grains and yeast.

Recipe

22 lbs. Weyermann Pilsner
1 lb. Crystal 40
35.5 g Perle hops - 60 min. ( 10.20 AA )
WLP 060 American Ale Blend ( 2 L starter for 5 gallons )
Nottingham for the other carboy ( 2 sachets sprinkled in )
5.2 ph Buffer in mash
50/50 Rocky Ridge Spring/RO water
1 vial of Clarity Ferm in each carboy

O.G. - 1.050 ( 88% )
F.G. - 1.009
% - 5.4
BU - 21
SRM - 5

FTBS

This brew turned out great. I wish I harvested the yeast. I do have WLP940 Mexican Lager yeast which I will use to brew a very similar recipe. I am going to use WLP060 on a regular basis next year. The Nottingham brew doesn't hold a candle to 060. I will keep it in stock as a back-up yeast.
