Cujo Light

Another try on lagers. I am building up lager yeast so I can brew one in my 14.5 gallon conical. Takes a boatload of yeast. This will be split with an ale.

14 Gallons

17 lbs. Canada Malt
2.5 lbs. Flaked Rice
1 lb. Carapils
70 grams Hallertauer - 60 min.
WLP800 Pilsner Yeast
WLP001 Cal Ale Yeast

O.G. - 1.038
F.G. - Ale - 1.008 - Lager - 1.012
% - Ale - 4 - Lager - 3.4
BU - 18.7
SRM - 3

The ale took almost 24 hours to get going. However, nothing from the lager yet. I used a starter and tossed in two extra vials for good measure. The lager took 84 hours to get going. I kegged, cleared and drank the ale before this lager was done fermenting. It will be a long time before I
waste my time on making lagers again.
