I bought some Wyeast Pilsen yeast 2 months ago and haven't used it. I am 0 for 6 in making lagers. I haven't used lager liquid yeast in almost 10 years. I do remember it was okay though. No diacetyl or sulphur that I clearly got using dry lager yeast. So here goes nothing. This is a split batch with US-05 in the other carboy.

3 Dog Lager

14 Gallons

19 lbs. Canada Malt
1 lb. Carapils
50 grams hallertauer - 60 min.
2 Wyeast 2007 Pilsen Lager
US-05

O.G. - 1.040
F.G. - 1.010 (Ale) - 1.014 (lager)
% - 4 (Ale) 3.4 (lager)
SRM - 3
BU - 14

I kegged the ale since the gravity was at 10 and it really had no intention of clearing. I am letting this age for as long as it takes to clear. The lager is still bubbling away slowly. I didn't make a starter for the lager. Since I used 2 pkgs. I thought it would be okay. It is okay, ( a little sulphur still ), but is going away. It still took 2 days to get going. This says to me that I should of used a starter to get the lag time down. Even though it took so long to get going, it still turned out to be a decent beer. I just have to figure out why it is taking so long to get going.
